Richard A. Scott

Richard A. Scott, age 61, of West Mifflin passed away on March 8, 2023.  He was born in Homestead; the son of the late John and Margaret (Flaitz) Scott.  Beloved husband of Karen A. Hartnett-Scott.  Beloved father of Kimberly Hartnett, Rebecca (Ryan) Sabo and Richard Hartnett.  Loving grandfather of Mikayla Hartnett and Rory & Rhea Sabo.  Brother of Mary Alyce (Brad) Colette, Gayle (Joe) Hora, Dave (Michele) Scott, John (Gayle) Scott, Robert (Christine) Scott and the late Kathy Scott.  Loving uncle to Andrew Scott, Kevin Scott, Shaun Scott, Shannon (Billy) Barker, Kayla Hartnett and Alaina Hartnett.  

Richard was a retired railroad engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was an active member of Homestead Park United Methodist Church, where he was the Chairman of the Trustees, involved with the homeless ministry and the church historian.  Rich was very involved with Operation Christmas Child, which he held very close to his heart.  He was also a member of the Duquesne-McKeesport Lodge No. 731 F&AM.  

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6 PM - 9 PM and Friday, March 10, 2023 from 2 PM - 4 PM  & 6 PM - 9 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main St.  Masonic Service will take place on Friday at 7:30 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10 AM in Homestead Park United Methodist Church with Pastor Donald Kephart officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to Operation Christmas Child, Homestead Park United Methodist Church, Hillman Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
