Robert Asson, Sr.

Suddenly on October 7, 2021, age 71 of Whitaker.  Bob was born in Homestead the son of the late David and Evelyn (Slater) Asson.  Beloved husband of Kathleen (Kennedy) Asson.  Loving father of Robert T. (Laura) Asson, Jr., and William (Nicole) Asson.  Cherished grandfather of Connor and Emma Asson.  Brother of Narda (Tom) Funk and David (Patsy) Asson.  Also nieces and nephews.  Bob was very active in the fire service.  He was a member and past President of Munhall Volunteer Fire Station # 204 (Munhall # 5).  President of the Allegheny County Volunteer Fireman's Association, Member of the Western Pennsylvania Fireman's Association, Steel Valley Fireman's Association and a councilman for Whitaker Borough.  "The Bear" will be sadly missed by all of his friends at Gun's Priced Right and Carmines Barber Shop.  Family and friends will be received on Monday and Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall (412-461-6394).  Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 11:00AM at Messiah Lutheran Church in Munhall with Pastor John Gropp officiating.  Please share your memories and condolences at georgeigreenfuneralhome.com.
