Robert Raymond Horney Jr. on Saturday November 7, 2020, age 63 years of Banner Elk, North Carolina; Beloved son of Joan Horney and the late Robert R. Horney Sr.; Loving father of Stefanie (Horney) Hicks & Ian Horney; Cherished grandfather of Abigail Hicks & Samuel Hicks; Dear brother of Tammy Petruzzi; Special uncle to Guy Petruzzi and Eryn Nolet and great-uncle to Bryce Petruzzi, Natalie Young and Ramiya Nolet. Robert was a 1994 graduate of Kenwood High School in Essex, MD. He proudly served his country in the USMC from 1976 until 1980. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building houses in the mountains of North Carolina. He loved being outdoors, skydiving, scuba diving, Civil War reentactments, hiking, and the pioneer life. He was not only handy in his work but truly an artist, he enjoyed carving, sculpting, painting, drawing and pen & ink.
