Robert L. Mathieson

Robert L. Mathieson, age 92, of Chambersburg PA passed away on February 12, 2024. He was born in White Township, Indiana County, the son of Dr. Robert and Beatrice (Lloyd) Mathieson. His wife of 43 years, Dolores (Gulich) Mathieson, preceded him in death in March 2009. He is survived by his brother, Richard W. Mathieson, and two nephews Richard C. Mathieson (Shawntelle) and Christian D. Mathieson, all of Cookeville, TN Additionally, he is survived by two grandnieces, Kaitlyn and Ashlynn, also of Cookeville, TN. Robert spent most of his younger life in Homer City and graduated from Homer City High School in 1949. He attended Bethany College and graduated in 1955. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957. After his retirement in 1994 from Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation, he and his wife decided to move to Chambersburg, PAin 1999. Mr. Mathieson was also predeceased in 2010 by his sister, Carol Mathieson Honess. His little friend, Fritzie, a blind and deaf Jack Russell Terrier 17 years old, was his faithful companion after his wife passed away. Arrangements are being handled by the George Irvin Green Funeral Home in Munhall, PA. Friends will be received on Tuesday February 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12 noon at the Funeral Home located at 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA. A private burial will be held in the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of any flowers or planters, please remember Mr. Mathieson with a gift to his Alma Mater, Bethany College, in Bethany, West Virginia.
