Robert Leo Mortimer, of Whitehall, passed away February 26, 2015 surrounded by family at his residence. Bob, the son of the late Sylvester “Dutch” and Hildur (Hanson) Mortimer, was born on September 6, 1934, in Munhall. He is the brother of Ellen Andrews (and the late Jim Andrews) and Bill Mortimer.
Bob was a graduate of Munhall High School and was a member of the Munhall wrestling team. His love for the sport led him to become the co-founder of the Baldwin-Whitehall wrestling organization. He furthered his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Bachelors degree in Business. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army, and his career consisted of working for General Motors for over forty years.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Norma Jean (Garrity) Mortimer and together they have three beautiful children: Dr. Robert (Michelle) Mortimer, Sharon (Bruce) Matthews, and Wendy (Jeffery) Earley. He was the adoring Grandfather of seven: Robert, Brendan, and Austin Mortimer, Olivia and Claudia Matthews, and Hunter and Madison Earley.
Bob was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was, and is, a man of unwavering integrity and honesty, a true disciple of Christ—guided by his everlasting Faith. Bob will be greatly missed and loved forever.

Friends received on Saturday from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home Inc. 3511 Main St. Munhall 412-461-6394 funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Homestead United Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Mario Lemieux Foundation Two Chatham Center, Suite 1661
