Rose Mary Shannon Miller

On June 9, 2021, age 82 of Homestead, PA

Beloved Wife of the late George Ray Miller, Loving Stepmother of Jo Ann Sloan, Tammy McCrea, John DeMeo and special adopted daughter, Kelly Mangan;

Loving grandmother of Amy (Mark) Sloan, Holly (Paul) Sloan, Megan (Doug) Nemcik, Corey (Kayla) Edwards, Carrington (Traymayne) Thomas, Joshua (Courtney) Edwards, Alyssa, Madelyn, Alexander Gable, Mindy DeMeo;

great-grandmother of Emily, Dylan, Danielle, Austin, Kylee, Mya and Novalynn Rose;

Loving Aunt to Cindy, Kathy, Karen, Jerry, Daniel and Danny many other nieces and nephews.

Rose worked as a Registered Nurse. at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh until her retirement, and specialized in failure to thrive children. She lectured at conferences; was a published author in many books and articles. Rose had such a warm, loving presence.

Rose enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling; and was an artist, with 2 of her drawings displayed in her home. She taught everyone about all nature.

Everyone who loved Rose experienced her generosity in many ways including shopping trips for clothes, dining out, trips to parks, rides to and from lessons, and vacations to the beach.  Many of her loved ones feel that they could not have become who they are today had Rose not been such an amazing presence and influence in their lives.

The joy in Rose’s passing is that she is no longer suffering, and she is moving freely and pain-free.  She is reunited with her beloved husband, Ray Miller, who she has been lost without this past year. We know Ray and Rose are climbing every mountain together once again, and she is reunited with all her family and friends who have gone before her.

“Live your life in such a way that you'll be remembered for your kindness, compassion, fairness, character, benevolence, and a force for good who had much respect for life, in general.”
