On October 18, 2014, age 95 of West Homestead;
Stephen was born in Homeville, on May 14, 1919, the son of the late Stephen F. and Helen (Kish) Chontos Sr.
Stephen was a longtime and active member of St. John Mark Lutheran Church, a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran serving in WWII, an avid golfer and a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan and a retired yardmaster for Conrail Railroad.
Stephen was married for 70 wonderful years to A. Louise (Stein) his beloved wife and best friend.
Loving father of Linda (Gary) Costa of Baldwin, James (Sara) Chontos of Wexford and Deborah (David) Voyles of Texas;
Cherished grandfather of Gregory Costa, Stephanie (Juan) Costa – Narvaez, Elizabeth (Brian) Plyler and Grant Voyles;
Special great – grandfather of Jace and Vonn Plyler;
Friends received on Monday from 4 – 8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main St. Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394). Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 12 noon in St. John Mark Lutheran Church, Homestead. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park.
