Timothy Linn Schaup, age 70, of West Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. Born on October 29, 1955, to Henry and Margaret Schaup (Beatty), he was the youngest of four sons, Henry (deceased), Bill, and Chuck (deceased).
He lost both of his parents early in life, which brought him closer to his brothers, spending his formative years living with each of them, where he was shown the value of learning about the world’s curiosities, maintaining an open mind, loving with a full heart, and the importance of a strong work ethic and that family matters above all.
Tim was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His immediate surviving family are his wife of 44 years, Karen (Kuzma) Schaup; son Justin Schaup and his wife Amy Schaup, and their daughters Maisie and McKinley Schaup; and his son Joshua Schaup. He enjoyed spending time and vacationing with his family, above all else. Additionally, he is survived by his brother and sisters-in law Miriam Schaup, Ellen Kuzma, Robert and Kathy Davies, Danny and Kathi Flaherty, and their children: William Schaup, Shawn Schaup, Tammy Neal (Schaup), Lisa Schaup, Henry Schaup, Pamela Schaup, Amanda Arch (Schaup), Charli Nalepka (Schaup), Connie Clark (Flaherty), Adam Flaherty, Rob Davies, Ryan Davies, Kate Shaffer (Flaherty).
Tim proudly served his country, state, and county. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Cold War Era, was a twenty-year veteran of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, and subsequently the Allegheny County Bureau of Corrections, where he served a distinguished career as a Corrections Officer. He believed strongly in the value of serving and making an impact with his coworkers, peers, and those he supervised.
Tim gave back to his community through the game of football and held various coaching positions for various organizations at the junior level, providing more than lessons about how to win on the field.
Tim will be fondly remembered, and sorely missed by all who knew him, and especially those who loved him.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8pm at the George Irvin Green Funeal Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 where a Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 12:30pm with Pastor Larry Coltura officiating. Tim will be intered following the Funeral Service on Wednesday, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Bridges Hospice, 4130 Monroeville Blvd, Monroeville, PA 15146.
