William J. Kennedy

William J. Kennedy, age 87, of West Mifflin passed away on January 2, 2023. Born in Munhall; son of the late Samuel L. Kennedy and Sarah B. Flanigan. 

Beloved husband of the late Marjorie L. (Bingham) Kennedy; Loving father of William (Pat Lauff) Kennedy of Oakmont and James (Cheryl Wiles) Kennedy of Bellingham, MA; Cherished grandfather of Taylor (Elizabeth Kennedy), Ross, Sean and Todd Kennedy. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Diane Kennedy and brother, Robert D. Kennedy (Helen Kennedy). 

Bill was a co-owner of George M. Hall Lumber Company, where he worked with his father, brother, sons and grandsons. He was a longtime member of Homestead Park United Methodist Church and past president of then Duquesne Golf Club, where he played many rounds of golf, a game he loved. He was also an avid bowler and played in leagues with many of his friends. Bill’s humor and charm won him many friends.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, January 5, 2022 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc., 3511 Main Street, Munhall PA 15120. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
