Daniel McCartan

Daniel Patrick “Chewey” McCartan on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 age 58, of Finleyville, formerly Pleasant Hills & Munhall, PA.

Born June 29, 1961 to the late Daniel G. & Lorraine (Gordon) McCartan; Loving father of Molly (Matthew) Yeckel;

Adored “Pappy Chew Chew” to Brooks Patrick Yeckel, Bryan Derry and Angelica Brennfleck;

Brother of Arthur McCartan and Sean (Jan) McCartan; Cherished uncle of Danielle, Rachel, Bethany, and Kaitlyn.

Also survived by dear friend and mother of his daughter, Sue (Barner) McCartan.  He also leaves behind Bentley and Roo, who truly were a man’s best friends.

Dan proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Carlow College. Chewey enjoyed a cold beer at the campfire, fishing, camping, watching Steelers games and NASCAR races, riding his scooter, making drawings and poetry. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. He was so proud of his daughter and above all he loved being a Pappy to Brooks.

He worked for many years in Radiology and most recently was an employee of the Peters Twp. School District.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Colleen McCartan and stepchildren Jennifer and Jeff Brennfleck.

Friends will be received Sunday June 7, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main Street, Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394) where a Blessing Service will be held Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Military Honors will be rendered following the service.
