Jaye Ann Wilkinson (November 16, 1942 – December 16, 2020)

Jaye Ann Wilkinson, age 78, from West Homestead, PA died Wednesday, December 16th from a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease, and additional complications brought on by Covid - 19.

Jaye, preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie  Harris,  was married to Wayne Lucas and together, they had one son, Steven Lucas.  Although Jaye’s first marriage didn’t work out the way anyone planned, Jaye was happily remarried to Charles Wilkinson who brought three children into the family, Lesley, Rebecca, and Jill Wilkinson.  Together, Jaye and Charles had one child, Elizabeth Mack.

Raising a large blended family like this had its challenges but Jaye and Charles worked together and made it happen!

Along with the above-mentioned surviving family members, Jaye is also survived by several grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Jaye graduated from Homestead High School and shortly thereafter started her professional career in and around the greater Pittsburgh area.  She was also a member of the Steelerettes, the cheerleaders for the Steelers.  Watching sports with her husband Charles was something that kept them both busy in the early years of their marriage, and they attended several Super Bowls together.

Jaye also had a passion for music at a very early age and became proficient in piano and singing.  This passion lead to her becoming a member of the Mendelssohn Choir in Pittsburgh where she went on to perform with the choir in Carnegie Hall.

Over the last few years, Jaye’s quality of life deteriorated quickly with Parkinson’s taking hold.  Many of her immediate family members had said their goodbyes to her long ago, and we’ll remember her in her good days, and try to forget the bad.

Heaven is gaining an angel, one who loved all the members of her family and husband with passion, and also one who could jump up, play that eternal pipe organ and lead the heavenly choir.

Due to Jaye’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.  In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
